It is an unfortunate fact that employees working for industrial companies are often working for people who have scant regard for their health. You often find, and certainly in the recent past, that companies often bypassed important health and safety measures on the basis of getting the job done quickly and saving a few pennies. The unfortunate result of this is many people who now suffer from some sort of industrial disease.
Industrial disease comes in many shapes and forms, and the only thing that really ties them all together is the fact that they commonly occur in people who have worked in an industrial environment. For instance, those who are suffering from industrial deafness have probably worked in factories near noisy equipment, or on a building site with large and loud machines. In this sort of situation there are always health and safety precautions that should be put into place, but often they get forgotten about, or ignored, because they make the job take longer.
Another common problem is vibration white finger. This problem is associated with people operating drills and large power tools, and using them for prolonged periods of time can cause some serious problems. A common problem is that giving people who operate these machines more time off to recuperate throughout the day actually costs the business more money, so this ruling often gets ignored.
